Duck with broken nail

my duck hurt herself a couple weeks back. Two of her pinion bones are broken in one wing. She has been limping since. We are giving her antibiotics and pain medication from the vet. Tonight we noticed her back nail is bent and funny colored on her one foot. Should I cut the nail off or do I need to worry about bleeding? Picture included. Any help is appreciated!

By no means am I an expert, but it looks like the nail has already came off and stopped bleeding, so removing the rest probably wouldn’t hurt. Just make sure it doesn’t get infected.

If you want to avoid bleeding as much as possible we’re it to happen, maybe tie the nail off prior to removal. If it seems too painful for the duck I wouldn’t worry about it, but I’m sure it’s painful enough as it is.
