Duck with Bumblefoot (Warning Viewer Discretion Is Advised)

One of the RIR chicks passed away while we were gone yesterday. I don't know how it happened, but just to be safe, I completely sanitized everything with vinegar. It could of been anything that caused it. The others seem to be doing fine, but I'm going to keep an eye on them.

I'm going to put Flapper with the others in the little 4 x 4 dog pen with cover I got for the chicks. I was going to put it in the coop and move the chicks into it the other day, but it's going to be really cold at night for like a week, so I'm keeping them in the house for an extra week. I got a video of the assistant tube feeding Flapper, so I'm gonna go figure out how to post that.

I hope getting Flapper outside around his friends will pep him up.

Me too. Veterinarian says if we can't get him to eat soon, we'd have to start tube feeding and bring him back to get tests and x-rays, and who knows how much that'll cost. He's in the little pen with Diamond in the coop, and the door is open so they can see the others. He hasn't started eating, but we'll just have to wait and see. I'm uploading that video now, it's taking forever...

Great job filming I hope you don't have to tube but I can't see how he can go many more days with out food. @casportpony
  can explain that to you.

If he's not eating by tomorrow, I'll start tube feeding him. I'm going to use 1 TS of apple cider vinegar, 1 TS of coconut oil, and 2 cloves of minced garlic in the tube with the food twice a day as a wormer just in case. Those are natural alternatives to harsh worm medications, especially since we don't really know what's going on. I don't think we're going to take him back to the vet.

I noticed Flapper had some food crumbs on his bill last night, and I saw him nibbling on a little bit of food this morning, but he isn't pooping solid yet. I mixed his crumble with hot water and added garlic, ACV, and coconut oil, and tube fed him today. I was thinking if I did that twice a day, it would keep him from starving but save him a little room to eat something. And if he happens to have worms, or something else, those 3 things I added would get rid of it. Tube feeding isn't as hard as I thought it would be, and the lubricant really helps it slide down. :)

What do you think about tube feeding him twice a day Kathy? @casportpony

It's good to hear he's starting to at least show some interest in food. Hopefully he starts eating on his own soon.

Yeah, I hope he does too. It helps a lot that he can see his buddies. I put him in the run with the others to see what he'd do, and Igor wouldn't stop picking on him. That is not what I named him for lol. I put him back in the little pen and he seems to be doing ok. :)
