Ah.
I'm good, and so's the flock. Thalia's covered in feathers and flutters all over the place like a butterfly, and Flapper enjoying nice, warm, summer days with his buddies. He still has a small limp, but that should heal up soon.
Finally going to build the big duck/chicken run in a few weeks. I've added a few features to the design too. I'm going to make a sandbox for the chickens which will be kept in the shady area to keep the chickens cool in the summer. The ducks will have a pool available all day to keep them cool, and there will be no mud puddles because it will be in an 8 x 8 attachment so most of the splashes won't go in the main area, and it will be filled with pine needles to keep it mud-free. It will have a valve with a hose attachment for easy drainage.I've been putting 2 cups of regular distilled white vinegar in the pool to keep the alegea from growing, it's like a weed in the summer. It's safe for them to drink, and makes the water last longer!
I went out to tuck the flock in bed for the night a week ago while it was dark and raining. On my way back to the house, I was trying to avoid the big puddle that was in front of the porch by stepping on a small piece of wood. It had 2 nails sticking out of it and they went through my shoe, and all the way into the same foot that already has a hole in it. So I had to limp on one foot with a piece of wood stuck to the other to get some help. It was really stuck in there, and blood went everywhere when it was pulled out. Good thing I already got a tetanus shot a few days ago and also taking antibiotics. That was painful.
It doesn't really hurt anymore though. I now wear boots out to the coop.
