Duck with possible scoliosis??

Can a duck live a pretty normal life with this? I guess it depends on how bad it is. I know people can live a pretty normal life I have a friend with it and she is in her late 80's .

Does your little one get around good? @Fisherlmiranda
Yes is getting around, just running sideways. I worry about it being a little harder for him to get around the bigger he gets. But for now hes very active.

It's probably scoliosis.

Abstract
Summary

Scoliosis is a genetic defect occurring in the white Pekin duck. It results from an abnormal growth of individual vertebrae. Curvature of the spine is not obvious at the time of hatching, but histological evidence of portions of the notochord is present and this is associated with an abnormal growth of the vertebrae. Scoliosis may be grossly obvious in ducks 40 days old. Of 282 white Pekins, 28.4% had scoliosis but only a few had a vertebral abnormality that was evident in the living bird. Scoliosis was not observed in the Mallard or the Muscovy, but occurred in 22.2% of 27 hybrids resulting from the mating of the Muscovy male with the white Pekin female.
I seen this posted by you in another thread and it's what initially got me thinking about it being what's wrong with him. @casportpony

I have a 4 week old Welsh Harlequin who I believe might suffer from scoliosis, but her back is curved such that it curves up towards the sky, bending her tail down towards the ground and making her bow her head down often. She hobbles when she walks and can only take 5-10 steps before she flops on the ground like it was the hardest thing she's ever done :-( I originally thought it was niacin deficiency, then maybe a parasite (because she is so small compared to her sisters. She is such a sweet little girl, I really hope she is able to compensate for whatever is making walking so difficult for her.
