I'm sorry if this is the wrong place to post. I just don't know how to use the site yet.

My dog bit my duck.ahe has a big wound on her back.
The internet said bacitracin would be okay to use. So I did that but I'm going to Petco to get vetercin spray.
Other than treating the wound what can I do? I have her in the house and I'm watching her. Can she have anything for pain?

I've never had an injury before so I'm just lost and I want to help her.

You may want to clip the feathers around the wound so when it heals they don't get sealed in and cause infection. The main thing is to keep it clean and dry and apply the ointment to it regularly. Ducks heal quickly so hopefully she'll be back out soon!

Meloxicam is given to birds by vets do you have any it is also used with dogs too. If you haven’t already rinse the would with a saline rinse there are recipes online. I’d look them up for you but having no electricity is hindering me from doing much.
Keep the wound moist with something like triple antibiotic ointment or neosporin without pain. And yes clip the feathers away from the wound. Ducks are amazing as to how fast they heal with good care. Let us know how she is doing.

Thank you. Her wound is scabbed over already but she doesn't seem to be eating. Her poop is bright green... Like all bile and no foods.. She won't even eat peas.
So, I'm not sure how this is going to turn out.
I've put her back outside in a playpen so she won't be lonely. Her friends lay outside of it and spend time with her. Hopefully lifting her spirits.

There is tube feeding
https://www.backyardchickens.com/threads/tube-feeding-ducks-updated-5-7-2020.1211994/ I lost a Runner duck because I didn’t have what I needed to tube feed her from that experience I keep these items always just in case. I also had a Runner that was sick( I never Knew why) but I kept her inside and tube fed her close to 7 days before she started back eating on her own she recovered thank goodness.
Sometimes tube feeding can give them strength they need to keep going and help them get back an appetite.
My ducks love for me to make their feed wet like soup so you might try that too. Also Poultry Cell can help give her an added boost.

I don't know how to edit a post but I just wanted to tell everyone that her wound has scabbed over she's eating, drinking and playing with her duck/goose friends!
She still grounded from the pond but we're doing really good.
Thank you to everyone who replied. 🩷
