Duckers

All I can offer is my experience with runners. Of my first four runner ducklings, three turned out to be drakes. My breeder only had one adult female she was willing to part with, so I had two girls and three boys. The boys -- maybe because they grew up together, all got along, and the original female seemed to resent the new girl.

I now have 11 runners, including four five-month old girls who have integrated into the flock where, because of the time of year, I guess, they are completely ignored by the boys. MAYBE you won't have to rehome all the guys?

My solution: When in doubt, add more girls!! And, I applaud you for not wanting your boys to become someone's meal. I can't bear the thought of that happening to any of the critters I raise.

And, whatever you decide, Welcome to BYC!
