Hello Everyone,
After a few springs of thinking through this idea, my youngest and I decided to bring some Khaki Campbell Ducks/Drake into our care. We are excited to have them as pets and egg layers for now. We are hoping to add a few more KC Ducks and maybe a M/F Pekin Pair or M/F Black Cayuga Pair. We have been brooding them for about 5 weeks now and are crowing by leaps and bounds.
The plan is to convert an 8 X 10 shed and then create a 24 X 10 enclosed run for unsupervised time. Once we clear some of our pines out this spring we are going to build a small pond to run off filter through a garden. The thought is that the ducks can help rehab the land where the pines have been for many years.
A friend suggested that we check out Backyard chickens and I am not disappointed. I am so happy to have found such great advice on this site. Thank you for reading and saying hello!!~
