duckling ate a yellow jacket - should I be worried???!

I've also seen my call ducks eat wasps. I guess it's ok
I would like to know how in the world they swallow them without getting stung though. That is a mystery to me!

When I used to have ducks, they ate them all the time as well. They would wait for them to land near the water and attack they would go. They would catch them and drown them in the water with their bill.

My ducks don't like wasps, from what I've seen...

Once or twice I've noticed one on the ground, usually dying, and my ducks would run over to investigate, but then leave it alone. Guess they don't like them anymore than I do. :gig

You may already know this but if you ever get stung by a wasp, rub vinegar on the sting.
Hahaha - my DH and I always say vinegar is the cure to everything!

As for the wasps/hornets/yellow jackets/bees/etc - my ducks don't touch them and I don't know why. My Ancona ate a vole this weekend but swam right past a drowning hornet in the pond this morning. Silly duckies!
