hey duck lovers, question for you

do any of you have a large pond that your ducks use and then come back at night to put themselves to bed???

i am trying to help out a newb on there:

New to having a flock

Yes, mine make the trek down to our pond to eat frogs and such every morning, they refuse to go in because of the turtles, but like clock work around 5 pm they waddle back up to their enclosure and their nice clean pool (that gets changed every day) and stay until it is time to go to bed. Then they accompany me into their enclosure, screaming the whole way, for their food. It IS a learning process for them, you just have to keep at it. You may have a duck rodeo for a little bit but they will figure it out. I have found that while you are herding them you have to keep the flock together. If even one bird gets separated you might as well start all over. You have to have everyone go into the enclosure at once or you won't get the "loose" one into their pen.
