my wife and I truly feel for you. We have lost 3 of our birds all of which could have been avoided had we been able to relive those moments but of course you can't.

If you think it would help, here is my wall of shame. Like you I was distraught but you have to go on and turn your focus to what you have and where you can make a difference: Chrissy.

We have turned that sadness and anger into action and vowed to the other birds in our care than none of them would go the same way, then took action. Build that pen for Chrissy, and get her a friend or two. You are a great ducky mom, but you are human and predators are very resourceful and have time on their side. We can be very critical of ourselves in 20/20 hindsight, but the truth is we can't foresee everything. Think of how great of a life you gave them up to the end, and protect and prize Chrissy and her companion(s) all the more.

Very bad day here. A martin got into my coop and murdered Tucson and Heather.

Chrissy is injured, but alive.

I'll spare you the details, but said martin was extinguished with a shovel shortly thereafter.... Nothing and nobody kills my beloved babies and gets away with it.

I'm still in shock.... This can't be real....

I'm so so sorry for your loss.... I know that your duckies meant the world to you.

Good news. Chrissy started nosing at food when I showed it to her. Didn't eat any, but better than the total rejection shown in the last 2 days!!

Great news!! have you tried making her feed[small amts] soupy so she has to drink it then at least she is getting something in her.
