Duckling Diaries: the Life and Times of a Welshie Trio

Yes..but 500 dollar deductible :(
may be chaeaper than fixing it yourself depending on how bad the damage is :hugs sorry
I have to admit..duck poo does stink. Didn't notice so much with my adults cause they don't get out of their pen much. Too hard to catch them not being tame. But my three babes get our every day and eat bugs and whatever they find. Whew. Smelly! Re thinking putting them so close to the house. Anyone BESIDES ralphie have any suggestions on keeping odor down?
cleaning it more often

I told him that actually! I think we need a guard goose!
me too!!

Except for the bugs. And the heat. <<Whimper>>

I want winter back....
i loathe winter

hey now! thats alcohol abuse!

Hi @shawluvsbirds lovely place you have there. Love the poodle duck too that is cute. I also saw a poodle gosling earlier. lol

Let me give some advise about geese They are awesome I love my 2 but they do have their down side. Especially during breeding season they are ornery and don't like anyone including us. Ganders bite and are very protective of their mate and off spring and won't tolerate much being around. I have a section of fence on the birds property that I call goose jail and on days they are really nasty they have to go in their. So from January till sometime in June they can be mean to the other birds and to us if we let them be.
They are loud too so if you have close neighbors you might want to take that into consideration. Guard geese mine have never been. They do give yummy eggs for about 3 months out of the year though.[they kinda make me think of ralphie] ;)
i am thinking bout getting a pair or trio of poodle geese

View attachment 1023559 well I'm far from perfect but this is the kind of over the top stuff he builds for me so I'll let him buy all the tools we can afford on a Lowes card! Lol
gorgeous!!!

Nope. All mine ! But I do think he needs to go into business for himself and work from home. Stuff like that custom built should sell enough to take early retirement don't ya think? He did have to take the plates in to have the ducks cut out cause we don't have a plasma cutter. But he could do it himself if he had one.
you need a plasma cutter!!! i love them!!!!

I have so many broodies, and I can't sell the eggs they plop down on for fear of giving a blood spot to a customer. But the eggs still need to be used, I just crack them in a dish to make sure they are good.

So far I have only had one blood spot,,,but I have visions of balut every time I break one open.
ewwwww

Hope I don't get detention for mentioning hunting on here :bow
nope, not detentionable

Turkeys are fun, they really are feathered dogs..like labs, follow you everywhere
i hope mine are like this!! oh and i need to send you the newer pic of mine, i want you to take a guess at the color it will be

I was set up today by my sweet drake duckling Memphis. It was the perfect crime. Water level was a little low in their pool making it seemingly hard for him to get out. He tries a few times and looks at me for some help. I gently raise him up and set him down on the deck he nibbles my hand a bit to say thanks and promptly plops right back in the water and flapps around like a crazy duck and drenches me! I swear he was laughing at me!

Awww :love

I was laughing too so it was OK with me. I hand fed him some grass to re pay his kindness and that got ralphies attention. How dare Memphis interact with the human and what is he getting that ralphie wasn't. He cautiously comes over and joins in the hand feeding fun and shoves Memphis out of the way. Memphis was not happy with ralphie horning in on his good time and decides to give him a shove under water which resulted in a full on pool wide duck wrestle and soaked the human duck mama again! Me of course! :lau

Sounds like all three Ralphies are stinkers. Your Ralphie, my Ralphie, and the human Ralphie. Well, at least I think he's a human?

And the little angel wing poodle duck does what every girl does when boys are being stupid. Looks at them like they are totally ridiculous and kept on eating the grass on the ground as if she couldn't understand what the big deal was. After all there is plenty grass on the ground!
