Nope. Sorry got my hands full with bratty dux. They've started being mean to each other already. Why can't they stay sweet and innocent ? I noticed my Ralphy duck is missing some tail feathers. You think they are fighting or is it time to molt into adult feathers already? They are a little over 2 and a half months.

I felt yucky today, so after getting the key stuff done at work I went home a little early and napped. Then up at 6:30p to do the waterers - just back in. It only went to 94F today, but more humid. Still, it felt downright cool compared to this weekend.

Heading out in a minute to double check the auto doors and ensure the birds are all inside...

I felt yucky today, so after getting the key stuff done at work I went home a little early and napped. Then up at 6:30p to do the waterers - just back in. It only went to 94F today, but more humid. Still, it felt downright cool compared to this weekend.

Heading out in a minute to double check the auto doors and ensure the birds are all inside...

Ugh. Sorry for ya. It was nice all day here only 75 at the highest. Spent all day outside with the ducks and cleaning up duck stuff I've been putting off for a while. Lol they are all tucked in and tuckered out now!

I'll be helping a friend do her meat birds in 2 weeks, so maybe I'll be more confident after that...

I'll be helping a friend do her meat birds in 2 weeks, so maybe I'll be more confident after that...

I know - it's not particularly pleasant even for those of us who are more experienced. But I promise, the relief it brings to both the chicken yard and to you is wonderful (I don't know about you, but when I've got fighting chickens, it sets my teeth on edge). I will be culling several of the big broiler NNs later this week, as they've started to really escalate the chasing around. Still creating the short list - I don't want to cull too many because I need to see how they do in the heat. But there are at least two that are for sure - one who has a cross beak (and is picked on and miserable), and one who really attacks my boots with way too much aggressiveness (and is also smaller and chased around a lot). I think I will only do two in a day, so I can be done before it gets hot.
