Oh Banti, I am SO sorry about your chicks! We lost a 4 week old last Sunday & I have no idea why. We'd never lost a baby before. It came out of no where & just completely wiped all of us out. Sending you lots of BIG hugs!

@AxolotlLove Sorry about your Drakes. Over the years we've had to rehome 3 roo's & its absolutely heart wrenching. I applaud you for making the effort to find them a good home & am glad its somewhere close by where you can visit. Sending you hugs too.

Yes, I guess I could have separated them in spring, but, it wouldn't be fair to my girls who would have to stay in the pen. They'll be happy where they are going, because even though it is a smaller pond, there are tons of females there, and my 2 drakes I rehomed last year are there. Even though I'll probably be super sad (mentally listening to see you again) at least my flock will be healthier, and you gotta do what's best for the flock even though it's hard. They already killed my poor Carly girl mating her.

Thank you. I have never had any of mine die, and now, two died in one week! At least this girl passed on her own, instead of me having to put down another one.

I feel so bad for you guys. I lost eight of my chickens last Tuesday, so I guess this is just a sad time.
