Boy you have your hands full. VetRX or vaseline will take care of the leg mites.Chrissy
WH Duck
Injured 12/21ish in a mink/marten attack. Puncture wounds on head are healing well, don't seem to be a cause for concern any longer. Dead left foot due to frostbite, not infected as of yet. Appetite slowly returning.
Maple
D'anver mix
Frostbite on both feet with large blisters. Popped them, as she was popping them herself and getting poo in them, and wrapped them with vetwrap and more padding. Eating and drinking well, hopeful that she keeps both feet.
Georgia
Mutt
Inside due to mild frostbite which is mostly clear. She won't be going back ouside as she is too skinny (due to a recent cocci overload, fixed) to take the cold. Well, that and I absolutely adore her personality.
Torvi
SH chick
Had severe pasty butt, after reducing heat she's back to normal.
Emma
EE
Has possible arthritis due to old age. Having trouble roosting some nights, and is sitting around more. Not much I can do, I don't think, except hope she'll make it to spring.
A few other cockerels have frostbit combs, not a cause for concern. They're not inside.
Flock issues...
Scaly leg mites, but only on some birds. Should have treated before, but didn't think it was a cause for concern. Now I'm thinking it might be reducing how many eggs are laid, so when it gets above freezing, I might go thru and treat the affected birdies.
Possible red mites. When it gets above freezing going to spray birds with permethrin, dusting with permectrin for now. Treating coop too.

Inside due to mild frostbite which is mostly fine now. She won't be going back outside as she is too skinny (due to a recent cocci overload, fixed) to take the cold. Well, that and I absolutely adore her personality.![]()

Poultry lice. Mostly under control for now, treating for mites will work for the lice too. Not urgent.
I was thinking about you yesterday Banti. The kids said something that reminded me of 'The Great Duck Caper' of Deb's little Cayuga Cricket. I had forgotten all about it & went hysterical laughing trying to tell them about my little pick up truck filled water & all of your ridiculously giant hats...![]()

Laughter might not be the best medicine, but it sure cant hurt!!!
Oh, now THAT was one of the best conversations I have been part of yet!!![]()
