Duckling Diaries: the Life and Times of a Welshie Trio

While you're in the library, look up my movie "Room on the Broom". It will only take up 20mins of your life. Every time I see it, I imagine me as the witch & DH as the little kitty who keeps saying no to all the strays, but eventually resigns himself to all of them. The broom represents my tiny house thats bulging at the seams. (Yes, I have an... um.. active imagination.) :lau
i love that one too!!!
Maybe it's a bowling alley!!!!!!!

I watch that movie on repeat every single Christmas (sometimes the whole Christmas season). I spend Christmas alone many years (before you feel bad for me - don't tell anyone, but I actually prefer it that way, and typically turn down gatherings of good friends who invite me over. Same for Thanksgiving. Don't knock it until you try it - such a nice, quiet day to myself!!! I know, I know - introvert much?!:lau)

When I stopped getting cable, I bought the movie (streaming/iTunes - cheap) so I could pretend it was the Christmas Story marathon they always broadcast on Christmas Day.
i would absolutely LOVE to spend my holidays alone!!!!

Quiet day? What is this strange thing of which you speak?

No kids screaming? No dogs squealing at the chickens? No stuff falling to the floor? No ovens beeping?

Middle one is what I need at the end of a very not-quiet day....
Having just discovered in my middle age that my taste buds now actually like gin, I am having a very nice gin and tonic, since I am taking tomorrow and the next day off of work. (I have also found a recipe for a virgin G&T that I'm totally trying out, since when it's hot, I'm totally now addicted to the taste of the G&T, but on practical terms would like a virgin version.)

I'm now heading out to go watch chicken TV. BBL.

We never had a plastic leg lamp, we were too poor. We did not have a TV either....

We only had food because Dad was a farmer and we ate our pets.
I'm pretty sure I'm a lot younger than you but I was raised old fashioned. We didn't have air conditioning till I was eleven. Did have an old console tv. Didn't eat our pets but we lived on deer squirrel rabbit Fish and quail. Grew up in this small town where I still live population under 900 so it's basically like being in the country. I'm an only child because my mom had cancer when I was young and couldn't have more children. Even though we had tv there was never much on no cable back then so I looked forward to getting to watch movies each year when they come on like Christmas story and wizard of oz ! Wonder how my kids would like waiting a whole year for a movie to come back on tv!
