Duckling Diaries: the Life and Times of a Welshie Trio

You guys are my kinda people!!! I have to share my road with 4 other houses (a couple of them renters.) Can you imagine 5 different houses trying to maintain one road. Its a constant battle between those who want it constantly maintained & those who couldn't care less. People here don't hesitate to roam up a rutted, damaged road that says "No Trespassing" ... I think they know that in CA I'm not allowed to actually shoot at them, but theres no law against me unleashing 47yrs worth of verbal, crazy in their direction.

Here's that link. I'm not sure the new format hyperlinks like the old one does. If it doesn't highlight when I post, I'll try again

Maybe that's why California people keep moving to my town. . we usually start cooling down by September lol. Seems like every new family that comes to town is from Cali. Us locals be like how do they find here of all places?

this is my back alley. City owns it technically but they don't maintain it we do. The house on the left is the one that come with the back lot. . we own the left side all the way to the bend. there is one more house on the right side there past where you see that telephone pole. Other than maybe them NO ONE has any business coming down this way. But alas people are idiots and can't mind their own business. See the ruts in the pic? Yeah. We didn't make those. I've been afraid a few times my husband was going to go to jail cause he runs out to confront dumb people who drive or walk through. One guy was stopping and trying to pet my dogs every day! Who does that but a would be thief. I need me a mean dog. But then I would probably get sued cause once again people are idiots.

I hate how irresponsible people wreck trails. There's a nice one that I ride on that due to 4 wheelers going on it before it's dried up from spring thaw is now nearly wrecked. There is substantial water erosion and I suspect in 10 years it'll be down to bare rock and completely unusable.

Sometimes we put buckets in the alley when we need to water on the other side so people won't run over our garden hose. . one day a county police car came through and drove off in our yard and over the hose anyway! What a jerk! And all he did was go down to the end and turn around and came back down the side street down there.

It doesn't actually get that cold here. I think you'd like it. Me, I'd like to move north....

Ha...I hate our winter here. Not a chance I'd like it there.

I live in San Diego. We've talked about moving to Phoenix many times. It would be crazy hot there, but at least we'd have AC. My brother lives out that way & they're already up to 118*. I've been stalking the AZ chicken threads trying to figure out how those people keep their birds alive.

I loved San Diego when we were there.

Heartless, aren't I?

It's beautiful. You do need a big mean dog.

Do so do so and I showed you the snow man to prove it !
Urmmmm... That's winter? News to me. Looks like you got about 3" in one sitting and that's it.

If I remember the pics right, you get snow and then it melts... Correct? It didn't look like it had any buildup to it.
