LOL, I had to crop mine out of the images above too. Why don't we ever notice those things while we're taking the image?Oops. . got my ugly toes in that pic lol
Ah huh. . that looks simple enough. I've been thinking about how to deal with freezing water in the winter. We used a bird bath heater last winter for duck and Jane. . but don't know that I can accommodate doing that for six more. The bowls don't quite fit perfectly in there 'cos the ground is uneven, but you get the drift. The ducks can't fit more than their head in there, so all they can do is snorkel... They can still get a bit out, but not on the same scale as before.

Yup. Board didn't seem to do anything, but then again, since you're in a mild climate it might make a difference for you, especially if you give them warm water.Ah huh. . that looks simple enough. So you just use the rubber bowls and refill them a couple times a day when it's freezing? I bet the board on top keeps it from freezing as fast.
eEEEEEE. I want her.View attachment 1076429 awwww! Look. She's finally content.
Don't you people know about hypothermia?
doesnt look very predator proofLook at this guys automatic watering system. . I think this would be great for your chooks but not sure what the point is for ducks. Don't know about ya all but my ducks don't know the difference between swimming water and drinking water. . .
looks like it would make quite a muddy, moldy messI do however really like this idea. . I don't usually put my feed in water. . should I be? I just make sure they have water available to drink.
agreedNah, dry is fine. It works best for me and my critters, the wet stuff gets muck in it...

LOL i got a new black call today and i have a feeling my hubby will claim it for himselfIsn't she precious! You'll have to fight my husband for her he has declared her as his duck. I'll let him believe that as long as he gets my new coop built. Lol
