Duckling feed and grit

We are going to start transitioning our ducklings to Nutrena duck feed 18% pellet.
My question is, it says provide appropriate grit, Just started hearing about this and not really sure what is appropriate and what we should get

chick grit for chicks / ducklings, regular size grit for adults
dont mix in feed
just leave a dish of it available
if the only thing they eat is the duck feed they dont need grit
as soon as they start eating anything else (snacks, veggies, bugs, etc) they need grit
i think by appropriate they mean the size
