Duckling Feed Question??

Hey all,

First off the ducklings are all doing great! The ones in the pen are LOVING the grass and area to run around in. The other little ones are eating like crazy and growing so fast!

Now to my question: When do I need to convert the big guys to a different feed?
They are still on chick starter with yeast. They are approximately 2 months old. My adults are on a 16% all flock crumble and are doing well.

You could probably switch them to all flock any time. Mine were raised on an all flock from the time they were little.

They can be switched now. Actually at 4 weeks they can be.

Awesome! They are moving through the feed and the store I get my feed from was out of the chick starter so I wanted to find out quick before I ordered more in.

Do they still need the yeast added in?

Purina flock raiser has the correct amount of niacin for ducklings and is safe for the whole flock. Also affordable, and readily available at most locations and with a recent mill date. Protein is 20%.

My feed is 16% and adequate for Ducks..

Flock Raiser at 20% is great feed it can be used from hatch for all their lives which makes it nice to not have to change. Layers just get oyster shell on the side dish.

Yes but yours free range so that 20% isn't actually all they eat so is cut in a day...

If you get a feed that has enough niacin you shouldn't have to add yeast.
