Well definitely needs to be said that it possibly won't work.
I look at all situations with realistic expectations. And if suffering is happening then let them go. My opinion..

Give the little one all the time he needs you'll know when it's time to stop. And just because someone else isn't willing to try doesn't mean the rest of us have to follow suit.

Don't give up on the poor little baby! I would try whatever @Miss Lydia and @casportpony suggest. They are a wealth of knowledge and have really helped me out when I thought I was going to lose my little malnourished baby.

Honestly at this age I say if they're ready to die, they're gonna die on their own the overwhelming majority of the time - no need to stop any convalescent care (as long as you're willing to nurse it) until the duckling gives up. They are very resilient animals.

the last one i had "howard" a wood duck was sick and not eating but now all is well with him. you never know.

I think that is how he got the prolapse but I put sugar on her and it seems a lot better it has gone down I could not put it back in..
