I got some new ducks a few weeks ago that were set to go to my farm, but I haven’t taken them yet. So I decided I’d set a few of their eggs. 11 eggs set today.

I also have some call ducks that just started laying so I plan to set some of them on Monday or Tuesday so they should hatch around the same time as the Saxony eggs.

Anybody have ducks hatching and want to share some boredom for the long wait? :)

I thought the calls were loud until I got a female pekin. She is LOUD. The difference is hard to explain. The calls are loud for their little bodies, and the way they quack makes it seem loud, I think, but the pekin has a more robust, full-belly QUACK! :D

So the extra ducks I just added were a partial trade for some chickens I was selling. I wasn’t planning to get more, but he needed them gone, so I accepted.
Two Saxony, a khaki and the drake is white crested. They may be mixed, I’m not all that familiar with these breeds. They were still molting when I took them.

I'll tag along for the ride [hatch] too. my broody's are hung up for the year. ;)

I hope mine are too, but I just couldn’t resist setting some big ducklings. And might as well set some call eggs too, right? :D
But I have folks that want call ducklings, and I am having trouble letting go of any more that I currently have, so I’ll sell the ones I hatch instead.
