I just got my shipment of ducklings today and one of my Cayuga ducks seems to walk funny. It seems that he's walking on his whole legs instead of the just his feet. I'd post a video but I can't figure out how.

Sorry to hear this but here is a link that may help you figure out how to help your duckling. it goes along way so continue to scroll till you get to leg problems.. https://sites.google.com/a/poultrypedia.com/poultrypedia/ please keep us updated.

It could be splayed leg or slipped tendon.

Thanks for the link miss lydia it was very helpful but I'm still not sure what it could be. Some things sounded close but wasn't exactly what is wrong. I was wondering if maybe he's still trying to learn how to walk. Because sometimes he will get up and run and he runs normally. I've picked him up and helped him to stand on just his feet and he did and I was using my fingers so that way he would have to balance himself cause I wanted to see if his legs were strong and they are and they don't seem misshaped or anything. I'm totally baffled.

Have you given him any Niacin supplements?

No I haven't. Should I?

yes niacin supplements 150 meg in a gallon of water then put into their waterer. get the plain ole niacin, not time release or flush free. if your feeding chick starter it doesn't have the amount of niacin ducklings need for strong legs.

Alright thanks I didn't know about that. Glad I do now. Thanks a lot. Do you think this will help fix it?
