Hello, sorry about all the threads I’ve been posting, hatching chicks and ducklings has me worried about every little abnormalities 😂 I have a duckling hatching right now, it pipped probably about 24 hours ago, maybe more, and it’s made a little progress but it’s not zipping. It’s beak is sticking pretty far out from the egg… should I try to push it back in? Or may it need assisting?

Ducklings can take a long time to hatch. I’d just wait and enjoy. Can you see the beak working in a “chewing” motion? This means the duckling is still absorbing the yolk sack, she’ll finished zipping when she’s ready. :)
Ah I figured! I just got home and she has hatched :) I was a bit concerned for a bit, but noticed it looked like it began zipping. I’m so glad she was all right. Thank you so much!
