Duckling not eating, just dribbles water. large crop.

Beyond adorable! :love:love:love Is that a Pekin for the friend?

Harriett was the perfect lady and then she saw food...:eek: I think that she is DJ's little punk goddess or something as he protects her, darndest thing. Maybe I anthropomorphize something that isn't there, but hey, that is half the fun.:ya

She reminds me of a sucker fish...just muddling and vacuuming up everything and their brother. My little piggie. :th
Actually the little yellow girl was a buff. Sadly both were claimed in a raccoon attack at roughly 4 months :hit But that raccoon was properly dealt with- swiftly. Our two newest ducklings are a Rouen (my absolute favorite duck) named nubbins, and a duclair named Ebby. My Rouen runs around like a rumba vacuum, and when I give them treats she tries to find a way to get to the bowl or bag that’s holding the treats, instead of taking what I am offering in my hand :gig
And Harriett acts like a punk goddess, and now she has perfected the look!! Or maybe she’s more into the grunge scene haha. Either way she deserves to be worshipped :bow

Very nice. But keep in mind that they do grow quickly. You'll need something deeper in another week. Plastic coffee cans or milk cartons work great.

The way these guys are going,I expect that my pond will be the only thing deep enough.

They have officially shrugged off the heated area, preferring the balmy 75 degree dining are temp for their sleeping accommodations.

Told ya. Ducklings don't need nearly as much heat as chicks do. Which is a good thing, because that means they can go outside sooner. The mess in the brooder starts to get overwhelming by the time they are 3 weeks old. I kicked mine out at 3.5 weeks.

Yes you did! :yesss:

I am old man :old, but I am a new duck daddy!:wee

Now I need to get them some more play buddies! Hmm...which breed will it be.

MORE ROUENS! :ya:yesss::ya:yesss:

I can't part with the second male, sure he is directly competing with DJ for the wiles and styles of Harriett, aka. Miss Piggie, so there are clashes, actually Prince is kind of mean to Harriett when DJ is not looking...oh, yea, I recently learned his name is Prince, from my niece. You can't rehome a Prince! oh my!

I just need to find a new source as I was not happy with the sloppy packaging from metzer and putting these little guys in jeopardy from day 1.

Hit me up if you know a good breeder who can ship to Texas, or if there is a good one here, I will let you all know as I really want to get some more Rouens asap.
