Thanks! And, gosh, they're duckies - they'll get a bit of grime on themselves from time to time

So - splay leg a.k.a. straddle leg generally shows up as feet wide apart. I wonder if this is the beginning of a hip condition . . . I am not a vet . . . but I do think that supervised tub time, B vitamins, and perhaps even time in a sling might help head off further trouble.

I hope someone else can chime in here, since this looks a little different than what I have seen before.

@needlessjunk ?

Thanks for the info. Cuddles is a muscovy. Yeah they get tub time.. i am sort of thinking she may of hurt herself at tub time or spraddle but wasnt sure ..she does go absolutely bonkers in the tub.

Hmmm... I don't think I've seen anything quite like that either. So her feet are close together and they get wider towards her hips? Maybe the other 2 who were tagged will have an idea.

Have any of you come across this before?

Does she have a hard time walking or swimming compared to the other ducks? I am just wondering if maybe there might be a slight "deformity" (a bone twisted or bowed compared to "normal") without something being "wrong" (disjointed or slipped tendon)... Either way - Niacin!

I haven't seen it either, and have to agree with the others. I did have a chick that had slipped tendon, but that was right at hatch. I would think something like that would be obvious before 5 weeks, but anything is possible! Good luck, I'll follow along and help if I think of anything else.

She has no trouble swimming she can walk but her legs are bent when she does . They do look a little bowed now you mention it.
