Duckling pipping wrong end 30+ hours

Hi! Sort of duck person here. Just to be quick and concise, if its been a long, long time, and few to no blood vessels are present in membrane directly under when you dampen it to render it translucent, peel back the shell slowly, gently, piece by piece until half way, then keep him moist for a few more hours and give him a chance to struggle out of that. A little water or even sugar water on the beak for a drink might help too. If he doesn't, check to make SURE his yolk is absorbed and help him out, keep him warm, get him sugar water or just plain water, but do not give him enough to drown in while he is weak. After that, you just have to wait to see if he has what it takes to live. He may, he may not.

You never feed or water a Chick or Duckling hatching...Still absorbing the yolk and not ready for anything but getting out of the egg...

Thank you. I just wrapped it in a warm and damp paper towel and candled it. There looks to be two veins running through the egg in a V shape below the hole and above where it’s beak is now placed. I’m not sure if they are active or residual.

To each his own. Lol, I've been hatching a while, and I hate losing any.

But seriously, if its been longer than 24-48 hours, and there's been a lot of stress a few drops of water, sav-a-chick, or sugar water makes a huge difference. I prefer water, just on the end of my finger.

And if you think about it, water on the membrane in your humid incubator dehydrating doesn't quite add up.
