Hey guys! Sorry I missed yesterday! Our duckie weighs 67 grams as of right now! She’s super rambunctious and loves to preen... But it’s getting harder to make her stand on the scale for us! Hope you guys are doing well! 0A63F492-E3EE-4D32-9761-5858DEDD4D6B.jpeg

Hey you two! Our duckie weighs 73 grams as of right now! ✨ Also- we’ve moved the heat lamp up and it averages around 85 now.

She’s been having a lot of separation anxiety, and jumps a lot in her brooder before we go to sleep. We’ve been having to hold her until she calms down and goes to sleep every night- but we’re still worried about her stress level since she gets so worked up. I have a stuffed dog toy that I ran through the wash for her- but I’m not sure if it’s safe for her. We’re scared she’s going to preen it and eat the little pieces of fur on it. What do you guys think? Do you think she’ll be okay if she gets some in her system? Or is it not a good idea? We want her to have something to calm her down- but not if it’s a risk to her safety.

That's great to hear @ForestAlice !

The stuffed animal is a good idea, and, yes, they will pull off strings if they can and swallow it which would be bad. Do you have any other stuffed toys that don't have hairs on it? Is there any way you could get him another duckling to keep him company?

Thanks, @Isaac 0 !!
There’s unfortunately no way for us to get another duckling right now. I can definitely continue to look for another stuffed animal, or make one from some clean socks. Do you know of any threads on BYC that have helped others with raising a duckling alone? It’s been really hard- but my partner and I have really enjoyed feeling like parents regardless! 💕 We’ve been doing our best. Hope you’ve been well!

Hey guys! Charlie/Chili/Platypus weighed 82 grams tonight! ✨ Steadily gaining every day! We managed to find a stuffed animal that didn’t have any long fur on it, put it through the wash, cut off the tag and gave it to her. It seems to have worked! Let’s keep our fingers crossed! 💦
Hope you two are doing well, wishing you the best!

@Isaac 0 @Miss Lydia @casportpony
Hey guys! I decided to tag @casportpony here too because there’s something a bit concerning! We’ve been taking CCP outside every day for about 15 minutes when it’s hot out so that she can have a shallow tray of water to take a bath in and preen herself. Yesterday, I gave her some crushed dried mealworms in her water. That’s the first time she’s had them since she had them before, per @casportpony’s advice.
Today, her poops looked different, (even though the only change to her diet was dried mealworms) but we definitely wanted to show you guys just in case.

I also snapped these ridiculously cute pics of her... Heres to hoping that all is well. 🙏 Looking forward to hearing from you guys!
