Duckling shaking, having a tough time walking?

@MRetriever have you tried giving the complex over peas or mealworms chopped lettuce in other words something that wouldnt be as stressful? I have to say even though still sad Spazz was much better. And you maybe into something my daughter was diagnosed with Epilepsy when about 6 yrs old and what brought on seizures was too much stimulation.

Is it eating and drinking on it's own?

Yes! That’s why, although sad to watch and a lot of work, I keep at it.

Other than the extra care and meds the duckling lives in the brooder with 5 other ducklings (his yellow friend and 4 small mallards) and he exists on his own and gets himself around just fine to eat and drink and coexist with the other ducklings.

Spazz actually doesn’t seem near as bothered by his issues as I am. I can see, and imagine, it’s frustration when it is trying so hard to get up and walk... but it remains pleasant, bright eyed, and spunky.

Today is my first day off again so that’s on the to do list
I plan to make a plate up for both the ducklings and start them on some peas!

Sooo... the peas are currently a work in progress for both ducklings... they do eat some... but I’m going to fool with some ideas and foods (and maybe floating stuff in water, they seems to like that) until they are used to eating a variety of things!

I did take them outside for an adventure (yay 70 degrees and a day of spring finally!).

I probably will take a break from posting for a few days and hope for a better change/update for you all. But right now the day to day just seems to be the same but hey, at least Spazz isn’t getting worse I guess!

Here is a little video... yes, he is really shaking.
However I do think it worsens with stress and the fact that he is trying so desperately to move and explore with his buddy.

I know it is hard to watch...
AGAIN Keep in mind he seems to be enjoying himself and has been surviving and growing thus far.
He does eat and drink and live in the brooder with the other ducklings the only thing I’m doing is vitamins, the b complex, an electroly and probiotic in the waterer, and a variety of therapies (helping it walk/stretch, swimming, etc) trying to find something that maybe helps him out.

Hey a little dirt Is okay at least they are enjoying themselves. My ducks aren’t real big on peas but boy they will do a song an dace for dried mealworms. Precious pics!!

i just read through this whole thread...
hope little spazz gets better! seems to be mostly shaking their head and neck, not so much the rest of their body?

I agree with Miss Lydia, extra stimulation can cause seizures and I’m assuming tremors also. And to say you are ONLY doing this or that for them....... girl that list was long! You are doing a ton for him!! I’m pulling for you guys!

Well... not a good update

My Spazz duckling has taken a downhill turn. I noticed this week his buddy has really surpassed him now in size and Spazz seems to be struggling to stay upright more and more, which I believe is due to the constant shaking.
He/she still cannot walk, despite my best efforts to help it along.

Spazz also seems less full of life, which is killing me .

Also I noticed the other ducklings are growing disinterested in it and almost seem to be outcasting it...

I’m hoping he/she makes another come back. My heart breaks for my little duck that I’ve grown so attached too! I hate to see it suffer and I hate that it still cannot walk... but I also hate to give up on the little thing

Some prayers for my little duck would be appreciated! I’m not sure what else can be done for it.
