Please help! My duckling is a month old and is struggling to breathe. His voice has changed, behaviour is normal as well as eating a drinking however he is really gasping for air (breathing rate is normal) and is inhaling through his mouth and out through his nose with a wheezing type nose. What can I do for him as I can’t get to the vet for at least 2 days

Poor little guy. There could be a blockage that can’t be seen or felt and that would have to be looked at by an avian vet. You could also try massaging his neck very gently to try to dislodge anything, though that could make it worse if it lodges deeper.
Is there any unusual bulging anywhere on him? Could be a ruptured air-sac.
Could have also aspirated on water or vomit, if something happened to make him vomit.
Those are the best ideas I’ve got, I hope he gets better :hugs

I have felt for any unusual bumps and I’ve given his neck a light massage but still the same. I have to wait until Monday to get to the vet and in the meantime he’s eating worms in water and resting so hopefully he can hang in there 🤞🏻
Thank you so much for your help!
