They are so tiny at the age...I love it when they start trying to use those little wings![]()
That is great, I can't waitI can’t believe it.. I’m a grandmother!
The darker crested one has a wide round crest on top and two small ones on the side of its head. The lighter one has two crests just off the centerline of the skull. None of the parents are crested. They are adorable!! I love your little crested baby![]()
Wow, it will be neat to see what they look like as adults. One of our crested ducklings has a weird feather growing out sideways. The darker crested one has a wide round crest on top and two small ones on the side of its head. The lighter one has two crests just off the centerline of the skull. None of the parents are crested.
Soooooo glad they ar hoping to be ok, that's great news...Just wanna share because this is pretty crazy...
I have 5 mallard eggs in my incubator and my mom accidentally unplugged it while i was at school to plug in a heat lamp for a brooder with some chicks, and when i got home the eggs were cool to the touch and the thermometers read 70° ! I know eggs can survive dips but it had to have been declining for several hours from 5pm to 9:30pm and these eggs are in the early stages, maybe 6-7 days. I candled them and was unsure but then i saw a faint heartbeat! Looks like theyre all alive. Im very relieved and just wanted to share so no one gives up hope![]()
