Duckling Thread!

I have been very busy so I haven't been able to post about it, but on Tuesday, June 16th, 2 of my broody Muscovy hens hatched 23 adorable ducklings! I'll have to get pics of them one of these days if I get a chance.

Another one of my broody hens that already hatched a clutch year is broody again, too! I think she has somewhere around 16 or 17 eggs if I remember right.
I keep telling her that she should start sitting on the eggs full time and stop laying more, because I know she can only cover so many, (as if ducks understand English)! :gig
I kinda think she started sitting full time today, so we'll see. Hopefully she is!

Happy duck raising and hatching to all of you!
Have a blessed weekend! :)
:woot Congratulations on all the new babies! And :fl for more!

I haven't ever seen Rose comb Rhode Island White. Can you tell I spend too much time in the duck forum. I have heard and seen Rhode Island White but is the Rose comb a different strain?
A true RIW has a rose comb. There are apparently a lot of crosses out there and if you hatch them enough you'll get one with a single comb eventually. Something about how they were created. Here's a couple pics...
