I just got some of my future Muscovy breeding stock for 2020 picked out today, so I am super eggcited!!!
I saved back 4 drakelets and 8 ducklets.
My most recent hatch of Muscovy ducklings had one duckling in it that really stuck out. I've never hatched any Muscovies this color before. I'm really looking forward to seeing what color it will turn out. It's almost like a lighter version of blue fawn. Anyone happen to know what color it might be?
Here are some pics of it.
Here are some pics of it next to a blue fawn duckling. The blue fawn duckling is on the left.
Here is an up close pic of one of the drakelets I saved back. Anyone happen to know what color he is? When he was born, he was completely yellow. Now he looks somewhat lavenderish. The only thing is, I don't know how he could be lavender because I've never had lavender Muscovies before and I read that you can't get lavender Muscovies unless they're parents where lavender or had lavender in them. Perhaps many, many years ago his ancestors had lavender genes and he just happened to get it. I don't know, but what I do know is he is a very beautiful drakelet and I can't wait to hatch ducklings from him!
