One of my almost 4 week old ducklings has become lame in one foot/leg. He is pretty much using his whole leg to hobble around. The other leg seems to be strong. This just started and has been on and off the past few days and is now consistent. None of the other ducks are having any leg issues. I have been giving niacin, and I have also added riboflavin and b complex vitamins along with regular poultry vitamins.

Could this be an injury or do you think it is a vitamin deficiency? The hock feels pretty big and it feels like it could be turned maybe.

Here are links to videos of him:

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Aw, poor ducky! How is he doing?

If the others are walking okay, I'd lean away from a vitamin deficiency.

We took her to a vet and they said it’s a slipped tendon. There really isn’t anything we can do at this age and size :(
I have a goose with club foot, not exactly the same as your duck, but similar. Water fowl are quite resilient animals, and my goose just walks on the back of her curled foot Instead. As long as your duck isn’t suffering pain, and can still flap their wings, they will likely be able to exist perfectly fine even with a deformed foot. I wish you all the best with your duck.
