Sorry about the loss Miss Lydia.I would go with it was meant to be. I don't envy you having to deal with those low temps. There has been a time or two when I'm sure that I would have lost one if the weather was worse. Like, the other day I got home and one of the ducklings was stuck in some fencing in the run. I have no idea how long it had been there but I'm sure I would have lost it if I didn't live in FL.![]()
Glad you found it in time. Well I decided to bring mama and ducklings inside for a couple nights until the weather moderates some, I just feel better knowing they are warmer and can come out from under mama for food and water. Put them in an X large dog crate. I have never coddled my animals [except my lone duckling that was rejected by mama last year] by the way same mama as now and she is doing great. This weather is brutal especially since it has been so warm... Hopefully when my next batch hatch the weather will be warm for good. due date May 17th..
