I am having a hard time finding one for Pa.

That's one strange law!!

I would wait til after the May first date so I could get fewer.

I wonder what other weird state laws we will find.....
:pop

Yeah whose checking this stuff anyway?? Do you have to give over your driver's license for tracking like when you buy sudafed?? Maybe in your state's listings you can find someone to split an order with you. Or look on craigslist for listings come spring. I often sell my ducklings in 2s and 3s because that's what I have -- I only have 2 hens so I don't set large clutches.

I have also heard that ducklings from TSC are not very healthy/ hearty...but maybe that's just around here (central VA). Death losses at 2-4 weeks seem to be higher than expected...just from what I have heard from neighbors and acquaintances. "I bought 4 but 3 died within the first few weeks". And I can't make it ALL due to mismanagement. I wonder if our local TSC duckling source is just not good.

You'll have to call your local store and ask as it varies by specific location (store to store). There's two near me. Both 30 minutes away in opposite directions so I have to call both before I make a trip because they usually have opposite things. However I know one has a 2 bird minimum and one has a 6 bird minimum. Metzer farms will have lot's of ducks available in the spring and summer around when you'll be looking. Metzer has great quality ducklings that are always healthy. They have a 2 bird order minimum or you could opt to get 3!

Last time I checked Metzer this past spring, 2 was the lowest limit they would sell/ship. They have a nice shipping chart on line you can look at.
