Ducklings hatched with a big yellow thing growing from butt

I know this isnt the time for this, but after hes healed and fluffed up, you should totally take a picture of him in a teacup because that sounds adorable

how do you tell the difference between and unabsorbed yolk and a hernia?

I talked to a vet and he said leave the duck on a wet wash cloth and put some drops on it so it will absorb it faster and leave him in the incubator until teacup gets better

DID YOU NAME HIM TEACUP or did I read that wrong lol

I'm guessing the incubator temperature was off.. and maybe the humidity as well.

Trouble shooting specific problem starts on page 4 of this link..

Calibrate you equipment or adjust your settings is the likely answer.. IF it isn't relative to only one specific set of eggs that were stored differently or longer, etc and this being the fallout.

Everything.
Are you saying you incubate the eggs in one thing/place and move them to hatch in another?
I've ran rolling hatches this way.. every week for a whole year! :smackIt was a fun challenge. :wee

I'm sure my link and info is chicken source.. but the information may still be valid and useful..
