Ducklings have arrived!

BTW, the "experiment " is still looking good . I candled day 15 last night. Still some veins, air sacs are getting bigger. It is getting harder to see inside so I assume that is good too. @Magnolia Ducks if they hatch, I will loan you the incubator when we bring you two of them. I will not be able to incubate/brood again until July. Too much going on.

This is so neat! Do you have any pics of your experiment, or pics of you candling the egg? I have never incubated an egg before and am fascinated.

I do not have any pics . I could take a pic tonight of the eggs in the incubator but to take a pic of one being candled takes more hands than I have. Wife is out of town right now and the Labradors are too clumsy to handle either the eggs or the phone.

My husband was laughing at me because I specifically bought these chips so that I could use the container to make a new waterer :D
I'm officially on the "Nuts about Ducks" train.

Waterer using a lays stax plastic can. I make sure to position the lid against the back of the brooder so they don't knock it off by accident. They did manage to turn it over after a day so I put some blocks around it. Makes a nice little trough. I may do the same for their food. They can't really stand in the trough so it stays cleaner longer and they are not able to splash it all out like the gravity fed mason jar waterer in there before.
