Ducklings stolen from momma

Sweetcaroline, who actually owned the ducklings when they were stolen??

No I don't own them they are Muscovy ducks on our communities lake, I live across the street from the lake. I take care of them if needed as do other neighbors, the hens nest in the neighborhood, this was our first hatching of the season. The Hoa says they are wild, the wildlife dept says they are domestic pets,.. This momma and her brew where in my neighbors yard at the time this lady helped herself.

If police were notified with a report of a theft of property/livestock and nothing was done it is time to contact the local media to let them know that that happened.  Baby duck stories are one of those "awww" sort of stories that can pick up traction quickly.

Yes I did contact news media , no response
I am trying another.

If this one question could be answered it would sure shed a whole lot of light on the situation..........

No one actually, they have lived on our lake now for about 8 years. They come into the neighborhood daily, back to lake at night. But myself and other neighbors do watch out and try to protect them. This momma was in my neighbors yard.

its illegal if they were your neighbours property, id probably kill the lady like no joke id be in court if she took my babies !!!!!

If they were in the yard of your neighbors couldnt you say that it was trespassing? I mean might as well nail her with some sort of crime. And maybe while she is away in court or something you can rescue the ducks and use that law about pets being in harmful situations citizens can get them out.

Good luck on court for killing someone who takes something that isn't actually your property - these ducks are not the OP or her neighbor's animals, which is the root of the issue. This is, essentially, like the woman had gone into the neighbor's yard and taken a stray cat. Was the woman on property that was not hers - per this telling of events yes - but was not actually in anyway a danger to anyone at the time, so there would be zero justification you could offer for taking such action.
I thought the ducks belonged to her neighbor?

See post #43 above - OP clearly states that the ducks do not actually belong to anyone that is involved.

Yes
I tried to get my neighbor to report her trespassing and that she threatened her as well but my neighbor had health issues and does not want to fight it. So that leaves me to try everything I can to get the ducklings back. I think it might be to late they could have all died by now. What is this law?
