Ducks and Amoxicillin dosage

Can you get a more accurate weight on him? If he really does weigh 10 pounds then his dose would be 570 mg twice a day, which is about 2 & 1/3 capsules.

He was 10 pounds, but he lost some weight recently... I'm going to weigh him now.

Yeah, he was a lot smaller, but he's been gaining weight. Both of my Pekin boys are really big and walk funny, so they kinda have a hard time getting around.

I just wormed all of my birds with Safeguard the other day...

I really think you should take him to a vet. If he were mine I might try 1 capsule 3 times a day. If he's not drinking you will need to tube fluids to him, then fluids and food. Seriously, to go from 10 to 6.5 pounds makes this a real emergency. Any more weight loss and he's getting very close to the point of no return.

If any of mine went from 4500 grams to 2900 grams (35% loss) I would not expect them to live.
