I just think he wasn't getting as much food because he wasn't getting around very well (could have been the start of his bumble foot). I've been feeding him a bit extra and the Safeguard should help if he has worms.

I really think you should take him to a vet. If he were mine I might try 1 capsule 3 times a day. If he's not drinking you will need to tube fluids to him, then fluids and food. Seriously, to go from 10 to 6.5 pounds makes this a real emergency. Any more weight loss and he's getting very close to the point of no return.

He was a lot smaller, but he's gaining weight now...

I had a hen that weighed basically nothing once (I think it was worms), but she somehow bounced back after some extra care and vitamins, and being wormed.

I went based on this:

Yes you can use it. I just got through using the same wormer a couple weeks ago. Use a syringe without a needle to administer orally to each chicken. Dosage is 1cc for giants, 3/4cc for large fowl, 1/2cc for standards, 1/4cc for smaller birds. Redose again in 10 days. Withdrawal start to finish is 24 days.

As sick as he is, I'm not comfortable suggesting you use the amount I normally use. Is there any way you can have a vet look at him?
