Ducks and chickens again

Newbie but been reading for a while and have a question regarding ducks and chicks together. I got some khakis around 4 weeks after RIReds brooded separate I put them together for cage cleaning to get used to each other. Guess I should tell you 6 pullets 3 ducks which were the minimums to buy. Ducks were not sexed. There is one of the khakis that is a tyrant and while he scares the chicks to death with his feather picking he gets along fine with the ducks. Is it likely he is the drake? He is also the only noisy one of the bunch kinda quacky noises. Is it possible when they go outside in to their new coop with more space this will stop? Or...should I find him a home?

I don't keep ducks and am not an expert on the subject of ducks, but I think you need to keep the ducks and chickens separate. They both have different feed requirements, nesting and water needs. Ducks make a huge mess with water, but need it for their health. Chickens will not do well with a watery mess. So I would build a separate area for the ducks.

As for them together now, start now and separate them. Don't let any of these birds bully on each other. It is your responsibility to keep them safe. So separate the ducks from the chickens.

Khaki Campbell's are the best egg laying ducks I ever owned and the feather picking really doesn't indicate a male just dominance and they really should be getting along as I have raised many a Chicks Ducklings & Goslings together in the brooder ...

Thanks for the quick and warm responses. I would have liked to brood them together but they had to order the khakis and their first shipment didn't survive the mail and they had to reorder which left them several weeks apart and size difference concerned me. I am going to give it a whirl with them together for a while with or without the bully. If necessary I will make some changes. Thanks again
