Ducks are testing my patience!!!

Hey! I have a egg thats externally pipped today and when I could see the membrane going dry I just used a q tip and gently dapped a little bit on coconut oil and it worked perfectly and he is doing so good
He hatched after the coconut oil? I’m a little concerned about one of my eggs, but also don’t want to dry the other one out by opening incubator

How many ducks do you have hatched now? Well done. I think I’m going to intervene with mine soon 😭

No he didn’t hatch yet I’m pretty sure he is absorbing the yolk but u could probably try putting some coconut oil if it looks a little dry since coconut oil is all natural it won’t hurt them

Im on day 30
Mine are on day 34 I know it’s late then normal but the temperature was low during half the incubation witch delayed hatching by a few days so that could also play a part in why your duckling is still in the egg but for the oil question I’m not quite sure is u could use other oils but I’d definitely look it up as long as it’s a natural oil I couldn’t see why not or u could just use some water that works to

So here he is. I was up all night. We had to help him and he was just rammed in the shell so tight. He’s huge! Anyhow there was a brown blob in the shell, it wasn’t attached and his belly looks good but he stink of cheese! Very badly. Never hatched before so is this normal?

I used a little coconut oil, thanks! He isn’t hatched yet, but has a hole as of this am and I can see him in there.

Aw yay! Mine also had a little blob lol! When they come out you can’t believe they ever fit in that egg! My ducklings do have a smell, but nothing very strong. I left mine in the incubator for about 12 hours after they were born to fluff. How is your other egg? We have 4 ducklings and another hatching this am. No progress in 2 eggs.

My duckling has a very big hole in the egg and he spears to be pushing his head and he keeps cracking the egg I’m so worried about assisting to early because the yolk sac he can breathe so I’m gonna leave him till it’s been 40 hours then I’ll start to chip away more shell but have you guys ever had one hatch without absorbing the yolk sac completely if u did what did u do
