From left to right: Small = 10mg ( .1cc) Medium = 25mg (.25cc) Large = 50mg ( .5cc) this is for chickens Large meaning Large Fowl so saying a LF chicken can weigh up to 8-10 Lbs weight your ducks and give according to chart.

I have 2 pekins and 2 khaki Campbell's. I'm guessing the pekins to be 10 pounds so that would be large and khakis 5 pounds so medium??? Do they just eat the paste or how should I give it to them?

I'd say that is probably right and safe Guard is pretty safe so it would not hurt them to have a bit more. I've used bread a small piece of bread just enough to roll around the paste. or you can hold them and another open their bill put the paste right at the front of the bill on the tongue and gently hold their mouths closed till they swallow. If they like peas you could take the paste and peas and mix good and give each one a small dish just so long as they eat it all. Bread works best for me. I have 31 in my flock can't imagine sitting down and putting it in each ones mouth,. I have had to worm a few separately and that i will just put in top the mouth.

I have the paste ready in bread for them. How often do I gave it to them and how long?

I was thinking maybe a mealworm sandwich with the bread and paste for the next 4 days. Mealworms are their favorite! Thank you all for your help. That's just it it has to be something they like and are familiar with my whole flock loves bread and seldom get it so I can use it pretty easy to give meds.mine also love meal worms. I think I'd opt for just putting it into their mouths.

I think there is some confusion about my paste wormer picture.

I've read about people using horse wormer to worm their birds, but I've always wondered how much Safeguard/Panacur (Fenbendazole 10%) paste one would use. So i decided to do some weighing and math. As it turns out, you would give the same amount of paste as you would the liquid. For example, if you usually give a bird one cc of the liquid, you would give one cc of the paste.

This is applies to Fenbendazole 10% only, not Ivermectin and it's probably only useful to those that worm by mouth as I don't know if the paste would mix properly in the water.

Let me know if this is not clear enough since I seem to have trouble writing what I mean, lol.

It's important to understand how much your bird weighs and how many mg/kg your bird should get. Giving too little worming medication can cause resistance to wormers. Do you have any idea how many mg's of wormer are in a "pea size" amount? Well I was curious, so I measured it.

From left to right:
Small pea size amount = 10mg ( .1cc) = enough for a 200 gram (7 ounce) bird at 50mg/kg
Medium pea size amount = 25mg (.25cc) = enough for a 500 gram (17 ounce) bird at 50mg/kg
Large pea size amount = 50mg ( .5cc) = enough for a 1000 gram (35 ounce) bird at 50mg/kg
50 mg/kg is what my vets recommended.



Bottom line... the most effective dose is 0.23 ml per *pound* for five days in a row. That dose will treat roundworms, cecal worms, gapeworms, capillary worms, possibly some species of tapeworms and it might even treat all other worms that water fowl are susceptible to.

A six pound duck needs 1.4 ml.

I only used the paste on my chickens I did the safe guard liquid in the feed for 5 days when I wormed my water fowl and chickens together. 1/4 cup of safe guard to 1/4 cup of water mixed and poured over 4lbs of feed daily for 5 days.
