Had a friend who's neighborhood has a pond full of ducks and geese. She noticed one of the ducks was swimming low and not very well. When it got out of the water it wouldn't walk and hobbled if it did. She called someone in August and the animal rescue put her on with a 911 call. The fighfighters and cops came and tried to catch it but to no avail so they just said itd be fine. Well my friends son managed to catch it and brought it to me.
So it had two puncher looking things on one foot. One was bigger then the other. The biggest one I pulled the plug out of and it was huge and condensed yellow. Blood came out but no puss. The best plug came out it was black and smaller. No blood or pus came out of this one. I pulled some black substance outta the that one with tweezers. The foot with the plugs is huge and swollen to a point were it flops over backways and she cant move it at all. I poked it in some of the swollen spots with a needle I was able to drain a little puss. Poking in the tow are resulted in blood so I know theres still blood flow. The other is foot is crippled and had bumble on the bottom of her foot. Fixed the bumble and dressed it. On all the wounds I put lavender, antibacterial chicken spray and some herb salve I have. Put a cotton pad on the bumble and wrapped it not to tight in case of swelling. The other foot I dressed and put bandages on to made sure it was converted figured wrapping a swelling foot wasn't good. I have her in a crate with food and water I also have her but I drench. She probably doesn't know how to eat feed so I will monitor that. She has decent amount of weight for a sickly duck I thinks she will do well and hopefully i can fix the one foot. Any help is appericated!
