Hi!
Not sure.. But I have 2 drake Rouens that like to fight with my Cayuga. (Boy) im not sure if they are trying to mate eachother or fighting..
Yesterday I saw the Cayuga fight back for a first time.. And they really looked aggressive.
What can I do? Why are they doing this?

By “fighting” are they standing on each other’s back and grabbing necks? Or are they bumping chests and flappping around? Does one lay flat before they start interacting? Or are they hissing and bobbing heads whilst approaching each other?

They chase each other..and knock eachother over..peck at each other. Its gotten worse.

Doesn't sound like mating... It’s spring so they are probably getting frisky. You should probably separate them for now. I’m so sorry!

Is the Cayuga new to the flock? They could just be establishing dominance. It’s called the pecking order.

Mine aren't "fighting" but they are doing a number on the one duck by pecking. I just put the one in with the chicks, she is happier there. The chickens jump in and out of the brooder do if it gets to wet during the day, they can get away from it. It's the only way my pekin will heal. The khakis are not being nice at all.

He's not that new, but yes.. Lol they walk around like theyre best friends usually unless the Cayuga wants something they want.

Mine are free range so they can go where they want.. We only Have the 4 that are out, we have ducklings too.

Is the Cayuga going to be okay?? They free range around the yard..but when he's chased they can catch him and knock him over. I don't really have much room to separate them.
