Ducks for Botanic Garden

Hi All!
I work at a Botanic Garden in Northern Indiana. We were gifted 2 ducks, a Pekin & a Khaki Campbell. The Pekin was killed by a predator within a few days. We would like to get more ducks to keep the Khaki company. What breed would be best for weather & evading predators?

Hatchery sourced mallards might be a good choice.

Most domestic ducks are pretty cold hardy. But most cannot evade a predator. Even Mallards that can fly won’t make it out of a surprise attack. Will they have a secure house for night time? Incorporating a cute duck house and run into the gardens would be really cute.
