Ducks got attacked last night

Mine had the same problem. I put a box under the feed and water to raise it up and make it easier on them, but they still didn't really start eating more until after the second vet trip. I doubt having their feathers plucked improved their appetites that much so I'd have to say it was the Meloxicam that made the difference. If you have some I'd definitely try it; just be careful they don't aspirate. Someone shared a link in my thread to a great lesson on hand-feeding/medicating birds safely.
Great Thanks!!!!

I'm still following. We're you able to get a baseline weight on them? I ask because once they lose 5-10% of their bodyweight they (vets) one should consider tube feeding. I know it sounds scary, but it is so much safer and less stressful than syringe feeding.
Here is someone else that went though a similar experience:

Can you call your vet and ask about tube feeding?

I agree with you on this. I never tube fed before so I didn't try it...I was too afraid of killing my girls..

Please don't kill them trusted me they need tender love and care. I have had daisy duck in my house for 7 weeks and she was in really bad shape. I was going to euthanize her. My kids begged me to not... So I have been working with her for 7 weeks I have her in a quiet place in my house . once in a while I take her out when I'm free raging the other Ducks so she can be with them. she was blind for the first 5 weeks she is now starting to get her eyesight back. she was attacked by a weasel and he ripped off half of her head and bit down between her eyes she was in really really bad shape... I treated her with a antibiotic you put in her water for 10 days. I also gave her after that a vitamin supplement with electrolytes in it in her water...she can now see pretty good and laid her first egg today in weeks. I babied her and spoiled her with treats and lots of care she first couldn't see to eat so I would gave her a bath twice a day and I would put food in the tub..it takes lots of patience and love I would do this twice a day now she can eat on her own she will be going out in another week or two... ducks are tough but they probably are traumatized and whatever attacked your ducks last night will probably attack them tonight.. I would definitely bring them in and put them in a box or a crate it takes a lot of work but it's worth it I know it was for me... I would do it again in a heartbeat. I honestly didn't think Daisy would make it you could see her skull it was so bad she was blind, I definitely would give it a try.
Poor baby! I'm glad you are giving her a lot of TLC and she is making progress to recover!

My husband and I used deer meat. Yeah I know kinda wasteful on a good meat that you only can get with hunting license but damn we got him and his mate.....bloody is good also had luck with a package of cheap chicken legs...it was a good month in between my catches but it was snowy and cold in that month. May the odds be forever in your favor GOOD LUCK... I am pushing for you! :hugs
I just got chicken legs to try. We were also thinking about having the kids go fishing and using some bluegill
