Ducks just started laying, when should I try hatch some eggs?

Our Pekins started laying eggs too and we decided to try and hatch a few and put the others in the fridge. We labeled the eggs A through whatever and "B" and "G" took off. This is a pic of "B" otherwise known as Bailey. He hatched 10/8/13. "G" or otherwise may be known as Gidget goes into lock down on this coming Tuesday. Her hatch date is the 25th of this month. We live in Florida too so we thought we would give it a shot.

I think that when you are deciding whether or not to allow your duck to sit, the 1st thing should be that the duck's system is mature enough to give you good healthy eggs. Next, but certainly not of any lesser importance, I think that you need to think ahead a good 4months about the typical weather forecast for your area. I have decided that no ducks will be allowed to start sitting after mid- August here, because it gets cold here. And taking care of ducklings here with my set up is no fun in extreme cold weather.
