Ducks quacking at night

Do u by chance have a light on at night? I think our problem has been a outdoor light. I noticed our ducks have been much quieter since the bulb burned out.

My ducks always quack and make a little noise at night. So your ducks are like mine I guess.

Have you found anything that quiets your ducks at night? Mine are driving me crazy! They are up almost every hour at night which makes it very hard for us to sleep! We have one drake and four females. They are in a coop but Im thinking of letting them just roam the yard at night to see if they are quieter that way. The dog will protect them and we may get sleep again?!?!!
Please let me know if any of you have info.

Do they have water and food at night?

I would not let mine roam, though I don't have dogs. Too many unknowns and tragedy happens in a heartbeat.

My ducks quack all night long.  I would think instincts should tell them to be quiet because of predators.  We do have two Great Pyrenees that walk the fence line all night barking and keeping the predators out.  I don't know if they are disturbing the ducks or if it is normal  for ducks to quack at night??  The ducks are around the Pyrs during the day so it's not like they are afraid of them.

I have my chickens and ducks in their own yard with a chicken house in it. At night. when the chickens go in to roost, the ducks follow or I run them in and shut the door. When the ducks are left out they quack all night. I guess they are just party animals!
