Ducks vs Lettuce

I missed the grab between the knees at 2 seconds! I had to go back and watch it again.

Mine go crazy when they see us walk out of the house with lettuce in hand. They all quack as loud as they can and shuffle around by one of the gates trying to be the first one to the lettuce when we get into their pen. Sometimes I like to fool them and go in the other gate just to watch them all sprint across the pen when they realize I'm headed to the back gate. LOL! Nothing is funnier than running ducks!

Especially since from your avatar I take it you have a Pekin. The WHs (at least mine) tend to take it easy and just waddle fast. My Pekin is very single-minded when she runs and plows over bricks, rocks, other ducks, kiddie pools, garden hoses, her own feet - so far she hasn't gotten any real bumbles, but we are constantly putting clear iodine on little nicks and scratches just in case. She absolutely doesn't care and should be part of a duck football team. This is twice as funny because since she is so big, she isn't actually any faster than any of the other ducks. Every time I see her run it is a flash back to Fat Albert and the Cosby Kids: "Duck Duck number #1... Hey! Hey! Hey... <crashing sounds as feet strike the earth>" SO if this is a breed thing, I am sure you know what I mean. (Or maybe I just have a careless, single-minded, crazy Pekin).

At least your ducks know what to do with lettuce, Mine just plays leapfrog with it.

I have a motley crew of ducks.

I have 4 WH, 2 Pekin, 1 Khaki Cambell, 1 Cayuga?, 2 Buff?

My Welsh are actually quite pushy and bossy, but we have had them since they were only a couple days old and we handled them a TON. The others we adopted along the way and are not quite as outgoing. Our Pekin drake is a goofy, tripping over his own feet kinda guy. The hen seems to be fairly coordinated and graceful.

Love the video of Wobbles!!!!
